The second volume of the “Letters” of St Josemaría has been published
The four documents that form part of the new book just published by Rialp gathered together notes and ideas that he had been recording during the course of his life. In these notes and ideas, he carefully addresses some of the central aspects of the spirit and evangelizing task of Opus Dei.
“El hecho inesperado”, a book about the first women in Opus Dei
Inmaculada Alva and Mercedes Montero have just published a new book in the monograph collection of the Istituto Storico San Josemaría Escrivá (link). The book is titled: “The Unexpected Event. Women in Opus Dei (1930-1950)”.
Opus Dei is a personal prelature of the Catholic Church. It was founded in Madrid on October 2, 1928 by Saint Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer. Its mission is to spread the message of the universal call to holiness and apostolate in the world.
The aim of the institute is to promote historical studies of St. Josemaria’s life and Opus Dei and is also responsible for the publication of the Opera omnia of Saint Josemaria.
The ISJE has its headquarters in Rome, in the library building of the Pontificia Università della Santa Croce, in the ancient Palazzo di San Girolamo della Carità.
The Institute publishes the Collection of the Complete Works of St. Josemaría. A monograph collection, a specialized dictionary and the annual journal “Studia et Documenta” are also published. More information

Each year “Studia et Documenta” publishes around 500 pages of research specializing in the history of St. Josemaría and Opus Dei together with a comprehensive bibliography. More information

The second volume of St Josemaria's "Letters" has been published. The volume consists of four documents; two of these focus on young people; another is a summary of the entire charism of Opus Dei while the last document explains Christian life in terms of service.
This 700-page volume reviews the history of Opus Dei, from its foundation in 1928 up until 2016; a time span that covers the period of the founder and his first two successors.
